JSU

During a busy day of Public School, teenagers barely have time to think let alone think about their Judaism. Yet, in 15 Public Schools across the GTA over 400 teens join NCSY staff weekly to create a community of proud Jews, learn about their Judaism and, of course, eat pizza.

The JSU club always includes a fun educational activity like bobbing for apples before Rosh HaShana or building candy-Sukkot and conversations about basic Jewish concepts. For many, this is their first exposure to Judaism and the JSU club introduces them to new and exciting ways to connect to their Jewish identities and other Jews.

“I would say that Jewish culture club brought so many students together and taught us more about our roots while we participated in tons of fun activities”. Shannon Weissman (Alumni, 2nd year university)
