The Calgary chapter of NCSY Canada runs exciting programs and events for high school teens and juniors. ages 10-12 that help teens connect passionately to their Jewish identity.

Here are a list of our NCSY’s Calgary Programs:

Learn & Earn – A weekly Torah discussion led by Rabbi Carr. Participants receive gift cards or discounts to the Spring Regional Shabbaton.

Weekly Learning for Parents and Adults – Coming Soon. A class on Jewish topics led by Miriam Carr, which takes place while teens participate in Learn & Earn

Juniors Program – Our Juniors division hold monthly events and a yearly Shabbaton that bring Jewish youth, ages 10-12, from across Calgary together to make friends and connect to their Judaism.

Teen Social Events – Our social events are held monthly and include holiday parties that bring teens together to create friendships and strengthen Jewish identity

Teen Shabbat Shebangs  – Provide teens with a local, authentic Shabbat experience with friends, as well as a fun post-Shabbat social event.

Regional Shabbatons – Located in Vancouver (twice yearly) and Edmonton (yearly), Calgary teens experience the excitement and power of joining together with hundreds of teens in Western Canada for Shabbat and a post-Shabbat social event/outdoor adventure.

Live2Give – A social action and volunteering program that brings teens together to make a difference in their community and help the less fortunate. This program is run in partnership with the Jewish Family Services Center.

Israel Advocacy- Run by Hasbara Fellowships, the program seeks to help teens understand the history and importance of Israel, as well as respond appropriately to anti-Israel sentiment.

Torah High –  A supplementary, after-school Jewish school that offers courses for credit and experiential learning. This program requires the participation of a minimum number of students – if you are interested, please contact the directors (see info below).

NCSY summer programs:

The Jerusalem Journey (TJJ) –A 4-week tour of Israel that takes teens from the Golan in the North to Eilat in the South.

The Jerusalem Journey Ambassadors Poland (TJJ AP), takes teens to Poland for one week, followed by three weeks in Israel.
