Kishka Klassic

(L-R) Meir Cohen, David Kaplan, Chaim Levy, and Tzvi Woolf enjoying the day

The golfers who came out to NCSY’s 2017 Kishka Klassic, on Copper Creek’s luscious manicured greens, in Kleinburg, were raring to go. Before going out to show off their form, golfers picked up their gift bag of goodies—a drone, Adidas hat, golf balls, granola bar, and Mega Comfort insoles. Then reams of raffle tickets were unrolled and sold to our generous donors for the chance to win an array of prizes—2 EL AL tickets to Israel, jewelry, Blue Jays tickets, designer sunglasses, watches, to name but a few —while enjoying a delicious buffet lunch, which served up gastronomic delights of smoked salmon, green salad, tuna and egg sandwiches, potato salad, and grilled veggies.

Then out on the greens to play golf!

The majestic beauty of the course was breathtaking! Foursomes and twosomes practiced their game in the cool air, while dedicated staff members scooted around in golf carts in search of patrons, handing out water and kishka (of course).

The rain drizzled and cleared, then drizzled again, but nothing could dampen the mood of the golfers, who enjoyed the food tents that dotted the greens: hot dogs, hamburgers, and kishka at the bbq tent, sponsored by Hartmans Signature; trays and trays of sushi, sponsored by Umami Sushi; brightly coloured snow cones and candy, sponsored by Kosher N’ Natural; and potato chips, sponsored by Spudniks.

The  golfers came back to the main house for a delicious steak dinner, sponsored by Hartmans Signature. There was a live and silent auction that gave bidders the chance to go home with a variety of high-end prizes, such as a diamond ring, necklace, fur coat, catered Zuckter Berk dinner for 10 with chef, and amazing vacation packages courtesy of Charity Bids.

Another Kishka Klassic went down with many happy and well-fed golfers, whose generosity has ensured that NCSY and Torah High’s programming can continue to grow and reach a wider audience of teens.

Designer Warehouse Sale

Hundreds of eager shoppers streamed into the Lipa Green on May 28 to get the bargain of their lives!! And this they did. Bags full of discounted shoes—donated by  Capezio, Davids, and Duet—were hauled out by happy shoppers.

There were eight vendors in total—Davids Shoes, Capezio, Above & Beyond Chapeaux, KMW, Kassali Designs, Rebekah Price Designs, Regency Fur, and Sugar and Spice,— selling shoes, hats, jewelry, clothing, and more. It was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday; most importantly, money was raised for the critical work of NCSY Canada.
